How it works
01

Paste a repo

Any public GitHub repo as owner/name, or paste its URL.

02

We read the PRs

We pull merged pull requests from the last 90 days via the public GitHub API.

03

Get release notes

Titles are grouped into Feature, Fix, and Improvement, newest first.

From one-off to on autopilot

This generator gives you a snapshot. It does not write descriptions or publish anything. Shiplog does the rest: it connects to your repo, turns each merge into a customer-friendly note, and publishes to a hosted page, an in-app popup widget, and an email digest.

Shiplog is in early access. We are building toward the full promise and selling a $19/mo pre-order for founders who want in first. Below Headway's old paid tier, far below AnnounceKit and Beamer.

Pre-order early access · $19/mo

Lock in $19/mo early-access pricing. You are not charged until we open access.

Questions

Is this GitHub changelog generator free?

Yes. Paste a public repo and generate a changelog with no account, no login, and no GitHub token.

How does it categorize pull requests?

It reads each merged PR title and sorts it into Feature, Fix, or Improvement using a keyword heuristic, including conventional-commit prefixes like feat: and fix:.

Does it work with private repositories?

Not in this free tool. It uses the public GitHub API. Shiplog, the full product, connects privately to your repos.

Powered by Shiplog — changelogs from GitHub PRs, automatically.
